Composition of the men’s roller derby team of England

Because an image is more eloquent than words, here is the list of the British skaters who will participate in the 2014 Men’s Roller Derby World Cup in Birmingham (England)…

Info

Team England are incredibly excited to be able to take part in the very first Men’s Roller Derby World Cup. The team was formed for the first time specifically for this event in June last year and we went through a rigorous tryout process with close to 100 people trying out for inclusion in the team. After a lot of deliberation and many tough decisions, the management committee of Jerry Attric (Head Coach), Rollin Stone R (Assistant Coach), Rob BG (Bench Coach) and Florence the Machine (Coach) cut the squad down to 26 amazing skaters who would form the Team England training squad.

Since then, we’ve been meeting up, on average, once a month to train and in the process have formed a real close-knit and cohesive team that we believe are ready to take on the world this March. As part of our preparation, we’ve played three matches so far against an Irish All-Stars team, Team France and Team Wales, winning all three and are looking to take that form into the tournament. The women’s Team England squad did our nation proud in the very first Roller Derby World Cup in 2011 and we’ll be doing our best to do the same! We can’t wait!
