Preparatory training for K2 Cologne Skate Marathon on October 13
Last weekend (July 13 and 14) was fully characterised by inline skating. As a preparatory training for October 13, 2013 the K2 Cologne Skate Marathon organisers set up a two-day workshop with multiple times world champion Yann Guyader (FRA, Team EOSkates) in Cologne – and 26 highly motivated participants from all over Europe came: six Danes, a Frenchman, a Dutchman as well as 18 Germans.
In four practical and two theoretical/analytical sessions Yann conveyed « his point of view » of technique training and fascinated with interesting and mostly unknown exercises. Jump and stabilisation trainings without skates were intensively absolved, half-atmospheric BOSUs and wobble boards were used several times. And as a highlight and very effective exercise parachutes appealed to the participants. In the night it was then time for a video analysis of the day’s drills.
The weather presented itself in the best light and thus all practical sessions could be done outdoor on the track in Leverkusen’s Neuland-Park and on the Ikea Am Butzweilerhof compound in Cologne Ossendorf. And in between the sessions Yann was also at the participants’ disposal for two-eye talks, individual requests, and shoptalk.

A big thanks also to Daniel Busser (Team EOSkates) for the documentation.
