Initially, the Speed-skating World Championships should be held in Switzerland, but the lack of adapted infrastructure forced to chosse another place near Shanghai (China). However, skaters noticed that the chosen track showed abnormal curves. So, the surface was removed and rebuilt. Here is a photo of the freshly reworked track.
