The P2P Skating Marathon of Pamplona in Puente-la-Reina took place on September 13th, 2015. The hardest marathon in the word was won once again by the French Guillaume de Mallevoue (Ligne Droite Roller) in front of dangerous rivals. Paxti Peula Cabello took the 2nd place and Maarten Swings completed the Top-3. Guillaume allowed himself the luxury of breaking the competition record -his own record- in 01:06:30.
In the women’s, a complaint was filed after the victory of Maité Ancin Gambarte (A.D. San Juan Donibane). She finished with a 30-sec lead on Clémence Halbout (2 APN Bont) and Juliette Pouydebat (Pibrac Roller Skating). She would have benefitted from a little help from men skaters. To be continued…
Guillaume de Mallevoue’s race, 2015 winner and record holder
« The Powerslide Team are quick off the mark right from the beginning. Peter Mickel attacks in the first bump. Catching up on him, I counter attack and break away. I am caught up by Patxi Peula and Marteen Swings on top of the slope. There are bout 35 km remaining. We more or less take relays until I attack in the last pass and finish the last 7 to 8 km solo. »
