The first stage of the 2015 World Inline Cup and of the French Cup of Skating Marathons took place on May 31th, 2015 with Rennes Sur Roulettes. After the veteran races in the morning, the international marathon started at 3:25pm. Rain didn’t go easy on the skaters, and many falls were to deplore.
In the Men’s, multiple world champion Bart Swings (Powerslide) won in front of Ewen Fernandez (EO Skates) and Martin Ferrié (Pôle France). The two French fell during the race but caught back up to fight for the Top-3.
The Women’s race went to Juliette Pouydebat (Pibrac RS) who broke away together with Aleksandra Goss (Pologne). Clémence Halbout (Bont) imposed herself in the pack sprint.
The morning races
On Sunday morning, the timed race called « Smi-Roller » (21 km) was won in the Women’s by Maureen HAYS and in the Men’s by Jonathan Pelé.
Local Gaëlle DUPLENNE (REC Roller) imposed herself with a breakaway in the Women’s veteran marathon. Sylvain Cabotin won the Men’s veteran category, after an intelligent and strong race end.
