Tip
If you force a little, you can slip on both gloves and wristguards, but it is not easy to take them off… What to do when you have to get sensitivity back at the tip of your fingers to search in your pocket or use a tactile cellphone?
The best solution is to use mitten-gloves, the ones the top of which you can open, but you’ll still have to force to slip them under your wrist guards.
Moreover, mittens are expensive: between 10 an 30€.
But after all, why covering the palm of your hand if it is already kept warm with your wristguard. Here is a cheap solution by Mike…
You’ll need:
- A pair of wristguards
- Scissors
- Thick socks
- A ruler or a measuring tape
- Sewing thread and needle
- Time: 45 min
- Cost: 1 euro
Process
Step 1: Take 1 pair of socks (1€ in supermarket)
Step 2: Cut it, 10 cm from the tip in a circular arc. This shape will make the sewing easier… and, with use, the slipping in of your fingers too.
Step 3: Take the wristguard and the thread and needle. Stitch the tip of the sock on the upper part of the wristguard that is made of fabric and goes around the plastic plate.
Tip: According to your model of wristguard, you can use the velcro strap to make the sewing easier.
Here you are! You are now the owner of mitten-wristguards! Easy to take off and you can help yourself to a tissue off of its plastic wrap without taking your gloves and wristguards off! Just unstitch when warm days come back… Or use another set of wristguards until next winter!
