The 2016 U20 European Championships will take place in Pully, Switzerland, From October 24th to 29th. In April, Pedro Antunes, the U20 national coach for several years, published a first list of pre-selected skaters.
This list, concerning 10 clubs including Pully, Geneva and Biasca, has the particularity of designating 19 German-speaking players, 2 French speakers and 1 Italian. Pedro Antunes adequately answered to the ones who worried about it, that only sports criteria were taken into consideration, not linguistic ones.
The beginning of the preparation was set for May 22nd, in Uttigen. Then will follow a common training with the national selection on June, 11th. The next weekend, on June, 18th and 19th, the team will take part in the Wäudler Cup of Vordemwald.
Two tournaments are scheduled between August and October, the Brand Cup in Wimmis, and the Kyburg Cup in Thoune.
A solid preparation for Switzerland, who will have the exceptional occasion of playing at home, in Pully.
