Kaoshiung 2015: Speed Skating World Championships Opening Ceremony


The opening ceremony of the 2015 World Roller Speed Skating Championships gathering around 2000 people including 500 skaters from 41 nations.

Many Local and National authorities attended the event and whished good luck to the athletes: Mrs Chen Chu – Mayor of Kaohsiung – Mr. Hong Mao Sheng – Chinese Taipei Sport Administrator – and Mr. Cai Ci Jue – Vice President of Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee – together with FIRS Secretary General Mr Roberto Marotta and Mr Ping-Cheng Chiang, President of Chinese Taipei Roller Sport Federation.

The Opening Ceremony was animated by Zuyun Group, Artistic Skaters from the Chinese Taipei Roller Sport Federation, Da an Performance Group and Shute Dance Group that delighted more than 2000 people present in one of the more symbolic place of Kaohsiung: the Kaohsiung Culture Center, symbol of the Chinese Taipei culture.

One of the most amazing moments of the Opening ceremony was when the Artistic Skaters from the Chinese Taipei Roller Sport Federation performed on the stage: The dance of the so young skaters amused and entertained all the people who came there to take part to the event.

Starting from tomorrow, all the attention will be focused on the athletes and to the competitions beginning early in the morning. The Finals will be covered by live streaming on FIRS Web Tv.
