Thrilling series and season final to be expected on October 14. 5/6 of Berlin-Marathon winners will also compete in Cologne.
Still one week to go and the gun shot will start this year’s K2 Cologne Skate Marathon on October 14, 2012 in Cologne (Germany) at 10:50 a. m. 1,600 fitness and recreational skaters again wait for the race with its typical, but unique atmosphere to celebrate the season closing. The hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic spectators along the course will let the skaters’ hearts beat faster.
Additionally, more than 200 regional, national and international top athletes will join the fitness skaters. They will fight for the last points and titles in the GERMAN INLINE CUP overall ranking. Due to these high-class sportspeople we hope for a thrilling series and season final. Also the winners and runners-up of the Berlin-Marathon will be present in Cologne: Sabine Berg (Powerslide Matter World Team), Jana Gegner (Team EOSkates) and Katja Ulbrich (GB Racing Team) as well as Frenchman Ewen Fernandez and Felix Rijhnen (both Powerslide Matter World Team). Cologne’s defending champion and course record holder is the Frenchman Yann Guyader from the EOSkates Team. He will also compete against the strong Swiss Skate Team with Severin Widmer and Nicolas Iten.
The official registration period for Germany’s second biggest and (in 2011) second fastest skate marathon already ended, however, you may still hand in your late entries at the Köln Marathon Expo (October 12 and 13, 2012). All nice weather skaters please note: The meteorological services forecast DRY, slightly clowdy weather with temperatures around 11°C!° Therefore, come to our help desk and secure your bib number! In the finish and at the after-skate-party free beer will wait for you! You may thus celebrate the season closing worthily!
