Junior Women: 2 out of 3 for Colombia
In the Junior Women’s, the final ranking is similar to that of the series, with faster times for the Top-3 skaters. 2 Colombian skaters enter the Top-3: Geiny Pajaro (25.716 – COL) imposes herself in front of local Yen Yu-Ting (26.065 – TPE) and her team mate Andrea Canon (26.204 – COL).
The other skaters are at least 5 tenths behind the Top-3. Let’s note the great feat of Chinese Taipei with 2 skaters in the Top-5!
Junior Men: Fall of the series leader
The gold medal slips from the hands of Colombian Jaime Uribe, despite his getting the best time of the series. He unfortunately falls halfway during the final. Yet his team mate Alvaro Carrasquilla (24.009 – COL) wins for Colombia in front of 2 local skaters, Tsao Kun (24.169 – TPE) and Lee Yu-Sheng (24.346 – TPE), and 2 Korean skaters. The first European, French Thomas Dambrun, gets 6th place.
Senior Women
Despite her leading the series, Chilean Maria Jose Moya (25.883 – CHL) finishes at the foot of the podium. She would have seized the bronze if she had done the same time she did during the series. The other finalists went faster for the last round.
The title goes to Shin Soyeong (25.702 – KOR) in front of two Colombians, Stéphanie Hurtado (25.719 – COL) and Yersi Puello (25.767 – COL).
Senior Men
Andres Jimenez (23.415 – COL) and Juan Camillo Perez (23.688 – COL) make a double for Colombia, getting the two first places of the 300 m against-the-clock. South Korean Lee Myungkyu (23.773 – KOR) drastically improves his series time and gets the bronze in front of Spanish Ioseba Fernandez (23.830 – ESP). Despite his consistency, German Simon Albrecht (23.879 – GER), 3rd of the series, finishes at the 5th place.
French Darren de Souza (23.995 – FRA) is the last skaters under the 24′ and gets 7th place.
