Men’s Race: A New Winner After 3 Years In A Row

French Ewen Fernandez (Team Powerslide Matter) broke Guillaume de Mallevoue’s event record, improving his time by 53 seconds, during the world’s hardest skating marathon, from Pamplona to Puente-la-Reina. Patxi Peula, freshly crowned world champion for the 10 km race at the 2017 World Roller Games, tried to counter him, but the pack caught up with him. He won the silver at the sprint.

Women’s Race: Rocío Berbel Lays Down the Law

Argentinian Rocío Berbel and Navarrese Maite Ancín benefited from a pack made of a good dozen of skaters to break away. Maite Ancin tried to widen the gap with her team mate Álvaro Peña, but couldn’t overtake the Argentinian skater at the sprint. The two skaters yet broke the previous record, owned by French Clémence Halbout, by one second.
